Get ready to learn, network, and be inspired next month at our annual conference - “Champions for Public Education.” We have two motivating keynote addresses, eight quality general sessions, and twenty exceptional breakout sessions. We will culminate the event with our annual awards banquet. We will have some enjoyable suspense at the banquet because our Nominating and Awards Committee has decided to return to the tradition of surprising our award recipients. It has been very exciting working with our professional development team building and organizing the event. I want to thank Kathryn Whitaker, Linda McMahon, Evelyn Garcia-Morales, Lisa Guzman, and Tom Ciesynski for all their help and guidance.

The Executive Committee and Board of Directors have worked hard reviewing, editing, and improving three articles of our bylaws. You will get to vote on approving the changes during the general assembly.

I’m pleased to report that we have made excellent progress with our new NASB training tracking system for required professional development. Trustees and Assistants will have direct access to the information through our website. The new system will include all NASB provided training completed after September 2022. If Trustees take training outside of NASB, they just need to submit the certification of the course to me, and we will include it in the system. The system should be on our website by December 1, 2022. Any training completed before September 2022, can be accessed through Extended Studies, University of Nevada, Reno, at  shannonharris@unr.edu
