NASB's staff provides the services and programs that support the association's mission. Their job is to serve board members and districts so that Nevada's young people receive the best public education possible.
Dr. Oliver was selected as the Executive Director by the Executive Committee and Board of Directors in April of 2019. She is an accomplished Public Speaker, Entrepreneur, Senior Executive, and Learning Specialist with more than 30 years of success in k-12 and higher education, international education affairs, and nonprofits. She has built lasting relationships as she consulted with public and private organizations throughout the United States and abroad regarding change management, leadership development, instructional technology, and innovative learning scenarios. Her leadership experience is at work as the Executive Director of the Nevada Association of School Boards.
Tom Ciesynski was appointed by the NASB Board of Directors and Executive Committee to serve as the Association's Business Manager beginning January of 2018. Tom comes to NASB with a wealth of experience in local government finance, especially working with the school districts. He served as the Washoe County School District Chief Financial officer from August 2013, retiring at the end of 2017. Prior to that he served as Chief Accountant in WCSD for nearly 20 years. Tom is a Certified Public Accountant . He represents NASB as a member of the Committee on Local Government Finance. Tom is an active jogger, hiker, golfer and fitness-related fanatic.
